Homage to Squash Blossom Print

from $45.00

Premium archival giclee print on photo rag paper is available in two sizes. 9 x 12” print is printed on 11 x 14” paper, and 12 x 16” print is on 14 x 18” paper. Each print is signed and packed with love.

A squash blossom necklace is a show stopping, statement piece of jewelry originating in the Southwest region of the US, as a result of Native Americans meeting and learning from Spanish Mexican artisans in the late 1800’s. The crescent pendant in the center of the necklace, the Naja, is believed to be a talisman for the wearer.

My fascination for Southwest style began years ago, and has grown in appreciation the more I’ve learned about it. In this series I hope to place the beautiful handcrafted items of clothing, jewelry, etc. in its place of origin, and allow a conversation to happen between the landscape and the article. I feel a sense of pride in seeing such a beautifully crafted piece of artwork and the landscape that is so close to home.
